Measuring and Monitoring

Progeny map

Volunteers are needed to help measure the regional progeny test that are established across the eastern U.S.

Measurements such as height, survival, stem diameter, etc., are measured in the fall while timing of spring leaf flush is measured in the early spring. Measuring the trees is easy and all data sheets and equipment are provided.

If you are interested in helping out, please Dr. John Lhotka (UK Department Forestry and Natural Resources) and he can connect you with the nearest regional progeny test partner.
